Both players faced unknowns today! This is TR's first TowerTennis Championship. Not much was known of TR's tennis abilities before today's match. Nor, did TR know of Deanna's tennis strengths. The match-up seemed good with limited information, but when I was informed that they split sets, and were tied 3-all in the third -- I was pleased to have succeeded in pairing two players who could keep everyone guessing right to the end.
After battling for hours in the heat and humidity, both players find themselves tired and thirsty. Now tied at 3-all in the 3rd, this match is still a dead heat! Anyone can win at this point. TR is nervous, but plays to not make mistakes. Meanwhile, DH went for winners. The winners flew long and wide too often, and TR inches ahead for the win! 6-2,2-6, 6-3.
DH moves on to play ZP, while TR will take on the self proclaimed "King of the jungle". During his after-match interview -- TR exclaimed that: "the 'king of the court' won't feel much like a king once I'm done with him!"
